It is my great pleasure to announce to you that I have been handed a royal decree! It is not often that our Queens make grand announcements or hand out decrees, and so when it does happen, it is a source of great excitement. This is especially true here at Peacock Press where we handle the design and issuing of Royal postage stamps. Many people on Ziez are big Drew Barrymore fans (I know - it's weird and a little quirky, but then, so is Drew...). I am pleased to say that I am now the proud owner of two of her videos, Everafter and Charlie's Angels. It was with great honor that I broke the royal seal and saw Sir Wudge's footprint at the bottom of the scroll....

We are thankful that the recent earthquake on Ziez left us with only a minor mess to clean up. Many trinkets were toppled (we do love our trinkets here on Ziez) but nothing was broken and there was no damage to our offices here is Caskal. We thank all who were concerned about us and assure you that everything is fine and business continues as usual.
Recently, Peacock Press in cooperation with two other nations, Semprini and the Kingdom of Perpetuity, finished yet another set of postage. We have dubbed our little cooperative effort LSOI2, which stands for The Little Sisters of Indolence/Indulgence - we couldn't decide which we liked better! The LSOI2 stamps will be mailed out to representatives of other worlds and nations in an effort to strengthen our political, social and cultural ties. We are very excited about the LSOI2 issue and look forward to future cooperative projects.

I am pleased to announce the introduction of the newest client
here at Peacock Press: Ziez. For those of you who are not familiar with Ziez, it is a
small planet that realizes the importance of tourism to its economy and thus has signed on
with Peacock Press to produce various mailing materials such as postcards, and of course,
postage stamps. We feel that these items will be the key in promoting further tourism and
trade with Ziez's neighbors. Peacock Press considers it a great honor to be chosen as the
exclusive printer by our government.
We here at Peacock Press are very excited about this new foray into mail art because,
until now, we had only done small runs of books and one-of-a-kind items such as cards. We
will continue to do this, but are pleased to add more mail art to our repertoire. Ziez is
very near and dear to our hearts (it better be! we live there after all...) so we are
thrilled to have the opportunity to show the rest of the world just how great Ziez is! All
of this is just time for one of the many festivals held here in Caskal, the capital of
Ziez. Stay tuned for more information...
In celebration of this announcement, we will be sending out
limited edition post cards.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in receiving one of these
limited-edition cards.

A recent discussion on the AML list about monarchies that are 'for show only' led to this post from PP:

It is much the same here on Ziez.... We have two ruling
sisters, Queen Ezmerelda and Queen Ziba. Both are benevolent rulers but pretty much are
for show only. But woe to the ones who cross Queen Ez...she has a wrath that is legendary.
Kind of reminds me of my brother - generally good natured and sweet, but if you piss him
off or push too much, well..... And Queen Ziba, well she's sort of part of a two-for-one
bargain at the discount mart. Ineffectual and well loved.
The fact that we have two queens is sometimes a odd thing for visitors to Ziez.... and yes
Ziez is named after the two queens - just not these two queens - for we have had a Queen
Ez and a Queen Zi for ...well...forever! Legend has it that two brothers once ruled our
planet and during one of the bloodiest disputes between the two 'halves' of the planet,
the two brothers killed each other. The wives of these brothers, so distraught over the
war and the deaths of their husbands and countless others, vowed to unite the planet and
hence we have two queens. Now, the legends are not clear about weather the planet was
named after the wives or the other way around, but tradition states that at least one of
the female children of each queen be named after her. We are fortunate to live here on
Ziez because things are generally peaceful. Generally.
Here at Peacock Press, we are planning a tribute to the Queens in celebration of
continuing unity and peace. We are very aware of how precious that unity is and a stamp to
commemorate it seems natural. The stamp is still is the design phase though - we'll keep
you posted on that.
